January

In mid January Scrabble and Olive ventured to the first show of the year in Calgary! Scrabble picked up 6 more points to wards her Grand Gold title and Olive picked up 4 points towards her championship!

At the end of the month, Rip and Scrabble played in Barn Hunt, our first performance event of the year.  Scrabble earned her Instinct and Novice titles and Rip earned his Novice title and 2/3 of his Open title!  Both dogs love playing in Barn Hunt and eagerly look forward to their barn hunt class every week!

February

Scrabble headed off to Brandon mid February and was awarded all 6 Best of Breed wins and a group 3rd and group 4th!

March

No Shows this month, but the dogs are enjoying barn hunt classes and practicing hard for a busy April!

April

Easter Weekend started April off with a bang!  Rip and Scrabble both earned their RATO titles in barn hunt!  Olive becomes the 23rd Keypoint Champion by finishing her championship! Scrabble double played in sports this weekend, as she also earned her Excellent Containers Q in scent detection!

April has been a "sniffy" month with every weekend including a scent trial.  Rip ends our busy April by earning his 36th, 37th and 38th titles!  He earned the needed exterior Q for his excellent title and earned his Speed title and his Games Championship title!

May

May has kicked off with Russ and Veto attending a show in Saskatoon.  Russ earned 2 points towards his Championship and Veto earned 2 points!  Russ also earned his Novice Trick Dog Title and his Canine Good Neighbor title!  We also had some health testing done with Olive, Russ and Veto receiving their cardiac clearances!   Russ, Olive, Veto, Betty and Rip all attended the eye clinic for their annual eye exams, and everyone had normal exams!

June

June started out with a scent trial for Rip, where he added some component Q's towards his Grand Master title.  A few weeks later Russ and Veto were shown at our local show, where Russ was awarded a Group 3rd and 3 more points towards his championship!  Veto finished her championship the next day, becoming our 24th homebred Champion! Veto's health testing is now complete as well.

July

July was a quieter month with just one local show.  Russ had no competition so unfortunately did not earn the last 2 points needed for his championship.  July also saw Scrabble's litter leave for their new homes, so the puppies kept us busy most of July.

August

No shows for us in August, but the dogs did get to play in Sprinters and Scent!  Scrabble tried Sprinters for the first time and earned her Novice Sprinters title, while Rip completed his Sprinters title.  Speed demon Betty earner her Veteran Novice and Sprinters titles!  Next summer she will attempt to earn the last few points needed for her Advance Sprinters title.  The dogs love Sprinters and while the titles are a bonus, the best part is seeing the dogs get to do something that is pure enjoyment for them.  Rip loves to catch the "bunny" at the end of the line.

September

September was a busy month for the gang!  Rip completed his Scent Detection Championship!  The following weekend he completed his CD (Companion Dog) title in obedience!  This brings him to 41 titles!

October

So far October is off to a great start!  Rip added more Q's to his Scent Detection Grand Master title!  Scrabble was oh so close to getting that Q for her Interiors, which will complete her Scent Detection Excellent title, however she did earn her Expert Trick Dog title!  Her baby, Emmy earned her Novice Trick Dog Title the same day!  Rip then switched to Rally, earning his RE (Rally Excellent) title, which is his 42nd title!  Stay tuned for more October news!
